Enterprise In Interface (ENTER) aims to provide wider access to continuing vocational education and training for people living in contact areas. Namely, the project will encourage entrepreneurial education in order to create a significant positive impact on the personal level, as well as on greater economic development and integration within the community. This objective will be achieved by applying the knowledge triangle of research, entrepreneurship education and innovative entrepreneurship, with vocational education services – business agencies and business development centres – at the heart of the triangle.

The basic element of this project is the establishment of sustainable, cross-sectoral cooperative relations between vocational educational institutions, higher education institutions and other stakeholders through 4 regional partnerships (in 4 different countries). The project will draw on the knowledge of a wide and diverse group of stakeholders and identify the need and opportunities, development strategies, existing resources and necessary interventions within each region. The Stakeholder Group will also identify and test new models through entrepreneurship and promote social cohesion (e.g. social entrepreneurship, social cooperatives, joint jobs, business incubators, etc.).
Stakeholders will be government agencies, organisations, private sector businesses, educational and financial institutions, and many others.

One of the results of the project is certainly the development of the Regional Partnership Action Plan in each country from which the project partners come. The Action Plan defines the activities and work of the Regional Partnership.

Enterprise in Interface is an online course that you can fill in in a flexible way as you plan and work on developing your local community. The aim of the course is to learn the structure needed to use ‘Enterprise’ (in its various forms) as a means of resolving local social, political and economic issues. The course is designed to help people who have an interest and passion for the development of the local community, in cooperation with local authorities and policy makers, facilitate the creation of more stable and harmonious communities through the use of entrepreneurial initiatives (social companies, job creation schemes, setting up business courses, etc.) to change local areas. We see the potential of companies in stimulating economic development and revitalizing the community. ENTER wants to harness this potential through our curriculum, numerous case studies and course materials to show what can be achieved.

Because it is written by experts related to local community and business development and entrepreneurship, we believe it makes it an interesting and insightful course that will encourage you to engage in the continuous development of your local community.

This course is a specially designed online learning program for people interested in using community-based approaches to address, reduce, eliminate or prevent conflict or cultural intolerance. They are also intended for objective elements and psychological aspects of company training. The ultimate goal of the project is positive action on the personal level (change of people's lives), but also on the social level in terms of encouraging greater community cohesion and wider economic development. ENTER's mission is to promote businesses and entrepreneurial activities as a means of fostering greater social inclusion and as a means of combating conflict/cultural problems in communities.

The course is free and you can access it at a time that suits you, evening, weekend or every day a bit. Online learning offers you more time to fully absorb information. How much time should you devote to the course? Like everything in life, you will set a goal for yourself. It is delivered in the form of 5 modules and is designed to allow you to explore each module in detail to better understand the course.

The course is modular and you can enter and exit the modules of your choice, but we recommend that you follow the modules in the proposed order from 1 to 5. Each module contains a main presentation for a specific topic (left in the table below), and then a set of additional attachments such as exercises, videos and quizzes (on the right).

Course participants

The course is intended for persons interested in using a community-based approach to address, reduce, eliminate or prevent conflicts or cultural indifferences, including providers of vocational education and entrepreneurship support services and community development organisations working with persons from vulnerable groups.

The course will focus on new business models and skills needed for effective employment, on teaching entrepreneurship to participants from vulnerable groups and fragmented communities, and on finding new ways to build inclusive communities through entrepreneurship.

For people interested in involving disadvantaged groups in the community, the course will help them to better understand the real industry, how to develop skills and how to empower individuals to have a positive impact on their personal level (lifestyle changes) with the aim of community cohesion and wider economic development.

The materials are designed for different purposes. The course can be delivered as a full curriculum or part of it can be integrated to complement other courses. All materials are provided as open sources, and each part of this course offers a range of additional online materials such as case studies and activities on the topic.

As some learners want to learn content (or only parts of it) individually, all modules and additional learning resources are provided online.

Teachers and mentors can also use the course independently for professional development. Information on how materials can be used is provided at the beginning of each guide for each module.

The course can be used in a classroom setting, as well as a stand-alone distance learning course.

Course components

The course program Enterprise In Interface is divided into 5 different units called modules, each of which focuses on different aspects of the enterprise in the interface:

Module 5: Key to success – Finding a person who drives change in the community

 

Each module has three different training resources:

1. PowerPoint/pdf presentation – To be used together with Trainer’s Guide. This is an annex to the course that includes materials and activities. If you are attending a course for the first time, this is a good starting point.

2. Trainer’s Guide / Instructions – such materials can add value and complement student presentations.

3. Learners Workbook – each module has a workbook that complements each PowerPoint and other resources.

Although the Enterprise in Interface course is designed as a complete curriculum, each module can be used as a standalone session. Therefore, each module starts with a basic introduction on the topic that can be skipped if you use more than one module or the whole course.

You can study materials in any order. If you want to focus on a specific topic, you can jump to your point of interest – although the whole course is suggested.

The funds for the project to reconstruct and convert one of the halls of the former Torpedo factory into a Technological and Educational Entrepreneurial Incubator called ‘Torpedo Production Park’ were approved at the tender of the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, which, as an intermediate body, carried out the procedure for allocating EU funds.  A total of 97.22 will be provided through European funds. % the value of the project, with the City of Rijeka investing an additional HRK 2.8 million in the preparation of documentation projects. The new business incubator, as part of the project, will round off the technological unit of modern 3D technologies in metal.

The Mayor of Rijeka Vojko Obersnel recalled that the space of hall 14 a few years ago the City of Rijeka bought together with utility companies Vodovod i kanalizacija and Čistoća for 17 million kuna, and the fact that more grants were received than space was paid, speaks about the justification of the invested funds.
‘The grants provided are a continuation of the successful policy of the City of Rijeka to withdraw funds from EU funds, from which as much as HRK 560 million has been approved for a total of 67 projects over the past three years. Additional, newly submitted projects are also expected to be approved, confirming Rijeka as the leader in withdrawing funds from European Union funds, "said Mayor Obersnel.

According to the director of the Rijeka Development Agency Porin Ernest Cukrov, the main objectives of the project are to support innovative start-up companies in the manufacturing sector and related activities, who want to develop products faster, more efficiently and more easily, then to establish new education programs, as well as commercial support, i.e. to enable small and medium-sized entrepreneurs from the Rijeka area easier access to high-quality services and improve their entrepreneurial results.
"Our ultimate goal is – after electric bicycles, motorcycles and cars, also to produce an electric motor, thus somehow restoring the old glory of the Torpedo factory," said Director Cukrov.

 

  THE NEXT PICTURE OF THE HALA 14 BIOGRAPHYS TORPEDO

 

 

The obtained funds will reconstruct the existing industrial hall 14 with ground floor and gallery of 1,727 square meters, in which will be arranged 14 workshops and 2 offices for entrepreneurs, incubation teh-lab that will function as a coworking space for workshop works and equipment accommodation, conference hall and meeting room, while the central part of the hall will also be an exhibition space. The value of the works was estimated at HRK 7.97 million, while the most valuable part of the project is the purchase of equipment in the amount of HRK 13.25 million. There will be four 3D printers: 3D printer FDM (plastic), 3SD printer for sand, 3D printer DMLS (metal) large volume and 3D printer DMLS (metal) small volume, and scanner.

The project will last 18 months and the grant agreement is expected to be signed in October. Construction work on the premises should start by the end of the year, while the Torpedo Production Park could open its doors as early as the first half of next year.

Tina Ragužin from the Department of Entrepreneurship expressed her satisfaction that the European funds will regulate another Rijeka incubator and thus further expand the network to help entrepreneurs in the initial phase of the realization of their idea. Two decades ago, the City of Rijeka established two business incubators, in the meantime, equipment of a high technological level was procured with the aim of greater support for the work of start-up entrepreneurs, and in 2013 it opened its doors to Start up incubators in which the eighth generation of young people is provided with entrepreneurial infrastructure for the development of their business ideas.
