[LO.PA.Z. PLUS] 7th Partnership Meeting Held

The seventh partnership meeting of the LO.PA.Z. PLUS project was held on 1 August 2019 at the premises of the Rijeka Development Agency Porin d.o.o. The project team discussed the activities carried out for the quarterly period from 15 May to 14 August 2019 and the upcoming activities. [FRUGAL INNOVATION] Newsletter 3

The final phase of the Frugal Innovation project. We bring you Newsletter 3 with information on the current activities of the Frugal Innovation project, Erasmus+. [FRUGAL INNOVATION] The final event of the project was held

On 17 July 2019, the Rijeka Development Agency Porin organized the final event of the Frugal Innovation project from the Erasmus+ programme. The event was attended by about forty participants, including entrepreneurs, teaching staff, representatives from the City of Rijeka and the Rijeka Development Agency Porin.

Frugal meeting

Project Frugal Innovation aims to contribute to strengthening entrepreneurial knowledge and skills by introducing, adapting and integrating the Concept of Saving Innovation (frugal innovation) into the European education system. The concept originated in developing markets with the purpose of creating innovations with limited monetary and technological resources.

The lead partner of the project is Northern Chamber of Commerce in Szczecin (Poland), while other partners are the Rijeka Development Agency Porin d.o.o., Canice Consulting Limited (Northern Ireland), Momentum Marketing Services Limited (Ireland) and Beter Spolka Z Ograniczona Odpowiedzialnoscia (Poland).

The aim of the event was to present and demonstrate to the participants the importance of applying the concept of sparing innovations through the presentation of strategic action plans of all project partners, teaching curricula and online courses.  Participants at the event were encouraged to exchange their experiences and practices and, to get involved in the project through education or as teachers who will teach on the topic.

[PoWER] Transnational event held

 

Rijeka Development Agency Porin organized a transnational project event on 11 July 2019 at the Torpedo Production Park PoWER – Ports as Driving Wheels of Entrepreneurial Realm from the Interreg ADRION programme. It's an event, with the organizer of the Rijeka Development Agency Porin and the leading partner of the project National Research Council Construction Technologies Institute (Italy), assembled all 8 partners from 6 countries, CNA – Confederation of Craftsmen and SMEs from Ravenne Province (Italy), CERTH – Hellas Research and Technology Centre (Greece), CCI THESPROT IA (Greece), FEP – European Affairs Fund (Serbia), CDI – Institute for Cooperation and Development (Albania), Municipality of Durrës (Albania), CETEOR – Centre for Economic, Technological and Environmental Development Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and associated partner City of Rijeka.

 

The PoWER project aims to support the transformation of ports into innovative hubs maximising its entrepreneurial potential. It includes the activities of small and medium-sized enterprises, representatives of local authorities, experts and researchers from the field of Adriono in the design of new solutions and patents (products, services, business models and technologies).

 

Interested participants, about a hundred of them, had the opportunity to participate in the matchmaking as well as to visit the exhibition where the problems of port areas of all project partners were identified with the presentation of the best solutions: Elecrtfication of the Port Area (Teo Žikić – Torp d.o.o.), City Lighthouse: Smart Lightning for Smarter Ports (Edoardo Vigo – sis.Ter SRL), Heat Pump (Giovanni Merlo – Frigotecnica Merlo), Electric Bike Solar Station (Spyridon Tzafos – Spyridon Tzafos Engineering), Exterior Lighting with LED (Maria Antoniadou – Altern SA), Overall energy management (Nikos Coukovinos – Altern SA) and Energy Efficient Expert System (EEES) Logistics Platform (Dejan Mircetic – ION Solutions).

The event also hosted domestic guest exhibitors Leu Perinić (REA Kvarner) on Green mobility in Cruise Destinations – The Case of Rijeka, Vedran Brajdić (CGC) on Electromobility in Primorje Gorski Kotar – Case study in the EU projects EnterMOB and EnterNETmob, Tina Ragužin (City of Rijeka) with the theme The City of Rijeka – Smart City solutions while prof.dr.sc. Serđo Kos (Faculty of Maritime Studies, University of Rijeka) closed the lectures on Redirection of the World Maritime Container Traffic Flow Far East – Europe via the Adriatic Sea.

The exhibitors were also panellists in discussions on the flow of goods and people and the construction of innovative buildings and waterfronts in port ports led by a representative of the National Research Council of Italy. Roberto Malvezzi.

The main objective of the event was to find solutions for the transformation of port areas into innovative hubs for the purpose of which working seminars were held among partners and participants from 8 countries. Critical points and needs of port areas were identified and solutions were proposed by the project partner companies.
