On 15 December 2021, the second in a row was held Torpedo Days expensive. The meeting was held at the Torpedo Production Park, and the topic was Application of smart solutions in different industries.

The theme of smart cities and smart solutions in different industries attracted many visitors to the Torpedo Production Park, so they were looking for a place more!

At the beginning of the meeting, the interested audience welcomed Dario Zoric, Director of the Rijeka Development Agency Porin d.o.o., Senior Advisor to the Senior Adviser for Development and Economy of the City of Rijeka, Nataša Zrilić, and Doris Sošić, Head of Europe Direct Rijeka.

Dario Zorić announced that Torpedo Days will become a traditional event that will be held several times a year in order to promote new technologies as much as possible and to interest as many people as possible.

The following was a lecture by sales managers in new business areas, Ericcson Nikola Tesla d.d. and technical coordinator CEKOM Rijeka (Smart Ri d.o.o.) Damir Medved on the topic AI, ML and BigData in the context of smart cities – an opportunity for cross-sectoral cooperation They were very interested in the audience.

In his lecture, he pointed out that the City of Rijeka has already been chosen for the third time as the "smartest city" and that additional funds are being invested to make it even smarter. He also invited everyone interested to a presentation cycle called Smart cities and municipalities It will be held in January and February 2022.

The lecture was followed by a panel called Application of smart solutions in different industries in which they participated with Damir Medved, Luka Bracanović from the company E-glas, Igor Felc, Founder of REEV Electric and Mateo Starčević Filipović, Director of BrightDock & Huuk.

Panellists presented how they use smart solutions. So Luka Bracanović presented Kokolingo, a digital speech therapist trainee that can be used by parents of children with articulation disorders to practice speech with their children or by speech therapists in conducting therapies.

Igor Felc talked about his business and the project he is working on, which is Hybrid kit which can be installed in a non-electric car and make it a hybrid or plug-in hybrid car.

Mateo Starčević Filipović presented a new social network for young people: Huuk. Huuk is a social network that connects people according to interests and location. The primary role of this social network is to connect people who do not know each other (but not for a date like Tinder) in order to spontaneously socialize.

Damir Medved emphasized that good infrastructure is the basis for every smart city and that it is always necessary to start precisely from solving and improving infrastructure in order for the smart city project to be successful.

After the panel, the participants visited Torpedo Production Park where they had the opportunity to see industrial equipment for additive technology, i.e. 3D scanner, 3D printers and 3D modelling equipment, and a demonstration of the work of the equipment was held.

On Wednesday, 15 December 2021, starting at 1 p.m. We will hold the second in a row Torpedo Days event at the Torpedo Production Park at Milutina Barača 60/I. floor, conference room. A tour of the Torpedo Production Park and demonstration of industrial equipment for additive technology (3D scanners, 3D printers and 3D modelling equipment) is planned at 14:20. The programme is scheduled to be completed at 3 p.m.

As part of the Action Plan for Youth of the City of Rijeka for 2021, City of Rijeka – Department of Entrepreneurship is organising an online lecture for students on “Entrepreneur Beginner‘.

The lecture will be held by the director of the Rijeka Development Agency Porin, Mr. Dario Zorić, on Monday, 29 November 2021, starting at 2 p.m.. The lecture will discuss how to turn your business idea into a profitable business, how to recognize the market and effective sales channels, which legal form of the business entity to choose, and how to finance all this. The goal of the online meeting is to provide relevant information to students who are thinking or intend to start an entrepreneurial initiative. The estimated duration is up to 3.30 p.m., and it also provides time for participants' questions and discussion.

Interested students, as well as other young people, can ensure their participation by logging in to the link registration of participants. The deadline for applications is 28 November 2021., and all registered links to the online lecture will be sent to the email address in a timely manner.
