How to prepare for new funding opportunities?

The new financial period of the European Union is getting closer, and for entrepreneurs, cities, development agencies and other potential beneficiaries of EU funds there is an important issue: How to prepare in time for new funding opportunities while making use of the funds still available in the current period?

This will be the focus of the conference. ‘EU funds in 2028 2034 What the new period brings us and how to mobilise the remaining funds from the 2021-2030 period – 2027?’.

What can you find out at the conference?

Project planning starts well in advance of the announcement of each competition. Knowledge of future funding priorities, eligibility conditions and co-financing opportunities can help organisations identify opportunities in a timely manner and prepare better project proposals.

The conference will address the changes brought by the new financial period and the possibilities of using the remaining funds from the 2021-2030 period. 20-2027 The programme also foresees discussions on the financing of projects in the areas of social cohesion and territorial development, the green economy, innovation and defence, and the development of rural areas and tourism.

For potential applicants, this is an opportunity to gain a broader picture of the directions of future funding and to consider how to link their own development plans to the opportunities provided by EU funds.

Artificial intelligence has already become a part of everyday business, but many are still wondering how to use it to really make their work easier.

That's exactly what we're going to do in education. AI Masterclass - Practical application of AI for entrepreneurs, which will take place 2 October 2026 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. u the Torpedo Production Park.

Through two thematic modules learners will learn about the possibilities of using AI tools in everyday business situations – from content creation, research and information processing to simpler and faster performance of different tasks. Through concrete examples, we will show how to better give instructions to AI tools, get more useful results and what to pay attention to when using them.

Previous knowledge is not required, and you can leave laptops at home. After the training, the participants will receive the related materials, so it is enough to carefully monitor and prepare the questions, for which, depending on the available time, there will be an open space at the end of the training.

Who runs the AI Masterclass?

He is the founder and director of the conference Digital Labin and one of the founders and vice-president of the association ICT Istra. He received the Istriana award in the economic category for the most successful entrepreneur in the Istrian County for 2022, and in 2021 and 2022 he was nominated for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year award.

Education is carried out within the project BOND 3, as a workshop under the category ‘Consulting Growth and Development Entrepreneurs’. Participation for a business entity represents de minimis aid of EUR 70, and the necessary Declaration on de minimis aid used will be completed by the participants at the venue.

Cyber attacks, security requirements, certification, compliance, funding… Cyber security is becoming less and less a topic for IT, and more a matter of business and the day-to-day functioning of organizations.

That is why on September 22 we gather in Rijeka those who want to understand more clearly what is expected of them, what tools they can use and what funding opportunities will be available to strengthen cybersecurity.

CyberMeetUp Rijeka NKS in cooperation with the Institute for Information Systems Security, the Rijeka Development Agency Porin and Centre EUROPE DIRECT Rijeka and with support the City of Rijeka.

What does CyberMeetUp bring?

Experts of the Institute for Information Systems Security (ZSIS) will present Guidelines for the implementation of the cybersecurity self-assessment i Security certification rules for cybersecurity audit. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and clarify doubts regarding their application.

In the second part of the event NKS will present its activities and plans related to a new round of financial support to improve cybersecurity.

Through the interactive part, participants will have the opportunity Participate in the creation of the framework of activities of the future call for funding, present their needs and challenges and contribute with their experience to shaping future financial support opportunities.

In November we will go to Lisbon. Web Summit 2026, one of the world's largest technological events, where we will cooperate with the City of Rijeka present Sinerganu, a new incubator for IT and creative industries.

The Web Summit has been held since 9 to 12 November 2026 It brings together startups, investors, technology companies, potential business partners, experts and media from around the world.

Part of our participation is open to entrepreneurs and startups who want to present their solution, connect with international partners and investors or simply get to know the global startup and technology scene.

We have secured two participation options – ALPHA exhibition package for startups and partner tickets to visit the conference.

1. Present your startup through the ALPHA exhibition package

For Two selected startups we will provide an ALPHA exhibition package that includes:

• one-day exhibition space in the appropriate industrial zone,
• three ALPHA tickets for all three main conference days,
• presentation of startups on the Web Summit website,
• access to the official networking application,
• access to Investor Meetings and startup masterclasses,
• possibility to sign up for PITCH and Mentor Hours,
• Support Web Summit startup success manager in preparing performances.

The value of the three individual tickets is EUR 2,850, and the package additionally includes exhibition space, international visibility and access to special start-up activities.

Who can apply for the ALPHA package?

Independent startups can apply for the ALPHA package:

• have been operating for less than six years,
• They have not raised more than $1 million in investment.
• have their own software product, technological solution or related hardware device launched,
• have an active website.

Consulting, marketing and development agencies and subsidiaries of larger organizations do not meet the requirements of the ALPHA program.

The final confirmation of the eligibility of the selected startups is given by the organizer of the Web Summit.

2. Participate in Web Summit as a visitor

If you do not meet the requirements of the ALPHA program or are not interested in a presentation, you can express interest in one of the limited number of partner tickets.

The ticket provides access to conference content, exhibition space, lectures, networking application and other Web Summit activities.

The current regular price of an individual ticket is €950.

What do we provide and what do the participants organise themselves?

For selected participants we provide ALPHA exhibition packages or partner tickets.

Participants organise and finance independently:

• the road to Lisbon and return,
• accommodation,
• local transport;
• food, subsistence and other subsistence costs.
