[Work is the Key] Study trip to Križevci

On April 11, 2015, as part of the Human Resources Development Programme, a study trip to Križevci was held. The Rijeka Development Agency Porin d.o.o. is the holder of this project, whose duration is planned for the period from 12 August 2014 to 11 November 2015 and whose aim is to create a precondition for the economic independence of victims of domestic violence from three counties.

The activities were attended by the project participants and their children and members of the project team from Primorje-Gorski Kotar, Lika-Senj and Sisak-Moslovakia counties. Visits were made to the company HEDONA d.o.o. and the Križevci College of Economics. The visits were part of a project activity that offers acquaintance with examples of good Croatian practice and learning from organizations that employ socially excluded groups. When visiting the farm, children were able to meet some domestic animals including horses, donkeys, sheep and goats. After that, a presentation of the company HEDONA d.o.o. was held, since their inception, the inclusion of persons with disabilities as employees, production technology and received support for business start-up and employment.

[EnterYOUTH] Announcement of workshops for entrepreneurs

Three new workshops of the EnterYOUTH Project, intended for beginner entrepreneurs or young people who have an idea, will be held in April at the Rijeka Development Agency Porin. The workshops will be free of charge for participants, since they are co-financed by the EnterYOUTH project, and after the workshops, RRA Porin d.o.o. will select ten participants to draw up business plans.

The EnterYOUTH project is implemented within the Slovenia-Croatia cross-border programme, in the period from 1 March 2014 to 17 June 2015.  The leading partner of the EnterYOUTH project is the City of Rijeka, and the partners are: Regional Development Agency Porin, Faculty of Economics and Business Rijeka, Šolski center Ptuj and Bistra Ptuj.

As part of the project, activities and workshops are planned for high school students, students, unemployed young people and beginner entrepreneurs, with the aim of getting to know the basics of entrepreneurship and developing their ideas. The aim of the project is to empower young entrepreneurs and encourage entrepreneurship among young people, in cooperation with local partnerships.

At the press conference attended by the Deputy Mayor of the City of Rijeka, Miroslav Matešić, advisor for the development and implementation of programs in the Department of Entrepreneurship and also project manager, Tina Ragužin, director of the Rijeka Development Agency Porin, Ernest Cukrov, and Ana Babić and dr.sc. Ivan Frančišković from the Faculty of Economics in Rijeka, presented the activities of the project that have already been held and announced new ones.

[CREATIVE START-UP] Workshops on Creative Industries and Entrepreneurship

Rijeka Development Agency Porin d.o.o. is a partner in the CREATIVE START-UP project approved from the Operational Programme Slovenia-Croatia 2007-2013, Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance. The project manager is the City of Rijeka, and the other partners in the project are: Croatian Chamber of Economy, Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka, Faculty of Design Ljubljana, University of Primorska; Scientific Research Centre and Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region. Project appropriations are 411,369, 61 €, of which 344,812,56 € or 84 € are non-repayable.% its value.

The aim of the project is to improve the global competitiveness of creative entrepreneurship in the Slovenian-Croatian border.

The project aims to create and jointly implement a system of management and sharing of resources of less-favoured creative entrepreneurs with the aim of increasing their global competitiveness in the Slovenian-Croatian and other EU markets.

The target groups are start-up creative entrepreneurs, students, developing entrepreneurs, the general public and the tourism sector.

In order to enhance the development and exploit the potential of the creative sector, increase the global competitiveness of creative entrepreneurs and reduce regional disparities, the project will:

  1. raise awareness of the value of the sector and showcase the value of the creative industries sector;
  2. educate and inform target groups on how to increase competitiveness while taking into account current scientific and technological trends,
  3. build partnerships through the creation of a joint strategy for the development of the creative industries sector in the Slovenian-Croatian border and in other EU markets,
  4. promote the products and services of the target groups as well as the results of the project.

As part of the project, a series of workshops on the topic of Creative Industries and Entrepreneurship is being carried out.

The workshop participants are free of charge.

The third workshop for the presentation of the proposal of the Human Resources Development Strategy of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County 2015-2020 was held.

Today, 29 January 2015, the 3rd workshop was held to present the proposal of the Human Resources Development Strategy of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County 2015-2020 for the members of the Local Partnership for Employment of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, which was held in the premises of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, starting at 11:00 am.

Doris Sošić, Head of Strategy Development, led the workshop in cooperation with the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, Administrative Department for Tourism, Entrepreneurship and Rural Development. The workshop was attended by members of the Local Partnership: The City of Rijeka, the Moj Otok Association, the Put Social Cooperative, the SMART Association, the HGK-ŽK Rijeka, the HZZ_PU Rijeka, the Centaroprema RE&ZIN d.o.o., the DTI of the City of Rijeka, the Entrepreneurial Centre ‘Vinodol’ d.o.o., the Centre for Education Rijeka, the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and the Rijeka Development Agency Porin d.o.o.

This workshop aimed to get the members of the Local Partnership for Employment of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County acquainted with the final proposal of the Strategy that accepted it. This, in accordance with the planned activities, enabled its transmission to the county authorities for final acceptance.

All stakeholders in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County are again invited to submit project proposals in order to draw up an Action Plan for the implementation of this Strategy and in the future monitor the achieved results and indicators related to human resources.
