On 12 May 2015, the teams of the third generation of the Rijeka Startup Incubator presented their business plans and projects to the public at Demo Day, which they designed and developed over the course of six months with the support of mentors and experts from the business sector. Startup users are young people and teams who have knowledge and ideas in the field of information technologies, computer applications, industrial design and other professional areas.
Startup incubators are a specific form of support for Startup entrepreneurs, in the form of providing business infrastructure for project development and mentoring and advisory support, for those who are just starting a business venture or are in its early stages of development. The City of Rijeka recognized the need to establish a Startup Incubator and in 2013 the first generation of teams entered the Startup Incubator. The main goal of the Startup Incubator is to create an enabling environment for youth self-employment through the realization of their own business ideas, raising work competences for youth employability and impact on the development of entrepreneurial youth culture.
Over three generations, 122 users and 47 teams worked with 24 mentors.
Great help was also provided by the Rijeka Development Agency Porin, which, together with the users of the incubator, developed business plans.
