On the occasion of marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Rijeka Development Agency Porin, we officially opened the Incubator of New Technologies. The ceremony was attended by numerous guests, among whom it was a special honour to welcome the President of the Assembly, the Mayor of Rijeka – Vojka Obersnel. The Mayor of Rijeka briefly summarized the first twenty years of Porin's work, noting that Porin has successfully undergone its transformation. Porin's business incubators, which today branch from the initial 12 to 51 incubation units, have so far passed through more than 130 different companies, employing more than 550 workers.
Porin Director Ernest Cukrov pointed out that this agency has successfully overcome the problems and wanderings it has faced over the past 20 years. Returning under the auspices of the City of Rijeka, Cukrov concluded, the conditions were finally created for Porin to be able to fully dedicate itself to its primary and main task, which is to help young entrepreneurs and promote a society of knowledge and new technologies.
A day later (October 30th) was held and 3. ReScience, which, according to one of its organizers and the award-winning scientist Sven Maričić from Rijeka, gathered European and even world cream in 3D modeling of prints and additive technologies.
Dedicated to new 3D technologies, science and branding of society, the ReScience Congress once again brought together well-known technology companies and lecturers, including representatives of the renowned manufacturer of titanium implants and prints, KLS Martin from Germany, then ENEA, the Italian National Agency for Development and Research and the Romanian Faculty of Engineering Cluj-Napoca. A lecture on the development and branding of a society based on new technologies was held at ReScience by the director of the Ruđer Bošković Institute, Dr. Tome Antičić, and the dean of the Rijeka School of Medicine, Prof. Tomislav Rukavina, spoke about the launch of the Centre for Biomodelling and Innovation in Medicine.
On 30 September 2016, we held a presentation on our premises of the ‘Enterprise in interface’ manual, which was developed as part of one of the many activities of the project of the same name. More than 60 guests attended the ceremony.
Erasmus+ funded project ‘Enterprise in interface’ (ENTER).

The aim of the project is to improve the access and quality of training of social organizations to vulnerable groups living in the areas of confrontation by updating their knowledge, skills and organizational abilities.
To achieve this, we will:
- Set up 4 ‘Enterprise in Interface’ alliances, with stakeholders from the public, private and non-profit sectors working together to explore the needs and opportunities to promote successful entrepreneurship in communities, and develop collective and individual strategies in 4 regional operational programmes.
- Create, publish and promote the ENTER Manual and encourage the creation of further Alliances across Europe.
- Develop and publish a training plan and programme and training materials for emerging vocational practices, social innovation and business models and skills needed to effectively recruit participants from these vulnerable backgrounds.
- Test, publish and strongly promote the course, in order to facilitate its inclusion in mainstream vocational education.
The purpose of the manual is to provide support to partners for the adoption and implementation of the 4 Enterprise in Interface Alliances that are part of the project and ultimately serve as a guide to other Alliances that would be established across Europe.
