Upon completion of the implementation of the PoWER project (ports as drivers of the entrepreneurial area) Information brochure on the results achieved by the project. Since the project also has its continuation, on an annual basis the members of the Innovation Hub network will continue to exchange information after the implementation of the project, develop annual plans, check the visibility of the programme and share new common project ideas with each other.
The PoWER project officially ended on 31 December 2020 and was aimed at support the transformation of ports into innovative hubs maximising its entrepreneurial potential. It involved the activities of small and medium-sized enterprises, representatives of local authorities, experts and researchers in the field of Adriono in the design of new solutions and patents (products, services, business models and technologies).
On Tuesday, 22 December 2020, starting at 10 a.m., it was held Opening ceremony of the Torpedo Production Park and the final press conference of the project “Reconstruction and conversion of Hall 14 into a Technological and Educational Entrepreneurial Incubator Torpedo Production Park’in the premises of the Torpedo Production Park, at the address Milutina Barača 60, which gave Rijeka one of the largest entrepreneurial centers of its kind in the region that offers incubation and post-incubation programs and the possibility of using modern equipment in the field of additive technologies.
Torpedo Production Park is a new entrepreneurial infrastructure in the city of Rijeka thanks to the application of the EU project ‘Reconstruction and conversion of Hall 14 into a Technological and Educational Entrepreneurial Incubator Production Park Torpedo’, for which City of Rijeka received a grant from the European Regional Development Fund from the European Structural and Investment Funds in the financial period 2014-2020, in the amount of HRK 19,293,474.63. The total value of the project is HRK 22,691,480.39. The partner in the project is Rijeka Development Agency Porin Ltd.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Mayor of the City of Rijeka Vojko Obersnel and his deputies Marko Filipović and Nikola Ivaniš, Head of the City Department for Entrepreneurship Jana Sertić, RRA Director Porin Dario Zorić, and other guests and media with strict respect for epidemiological measures of gathering up to 25 people in one place.
At the end of the speeches, there was a tour of the Torpedo Production Park and a technology laboratory equipped with specialized industrial equipment for 3D modeling, scanning and printing.
