Applications for the Student Entrepreneurial Incubator TORPEDO 2022/2023 are open.

This year we are also collaborating with the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Rijeka in the implementation of the Student Entrepreneurial Incubator TORPEDO!

The program will be implemented in two phases.

Phase 1

It will last until January 2023, and includes a presentation of the incubator to interested students and a lecture on the topic of “From idea to student incubator’. The presentation and lecture will be held on December 13, 2022 at 11:00 am in the hall of the Annex at the Faculty of Economics. Register your participation through the following LINKS.

Student Entrepreneurial Ideas Applications are received through the following LINKS by 23 December 2022, 12.00. At the beginning of January 2023, registered students will attend a selection interview where they will have the opportunity to present their ideas and projects in front of an expert jury composed of representatives of the Faculty and RRA PORIN. Candidates who pass the selection procedure will enter the second phase of the programme.

Phase 2

It will take place during January and February 2023. It includes mentoring, participation of students in workshops led by experts where students will perfect their idea, followed by the proclamation of the best idea.

Who can apply?

EFRI student or team of EFRI undergraduate or graduate students. The maximum number of team members is 4.

Do I already have an elaborate idea of what we would like to do in the Incubator?

It would be great if you had your own idea that you would like to work on, but it is not necessary.

Through professional mentoring, guidance and support, the Student Entrepreneurial Incubator TORPEDO prepares students of the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Rijeka to apply for one of the competitions to enter an entrepreneurial or startup incubator, start their own business, get financial support or incentives, prepare for applying for various competitions in entrepreneurial ideas, but also for the labor market through the acquisition of new skills and knowledge.

The 3rd Call for Proposals under the “Business Development and Innovation Croatia” programme was published

The 3rd Call for Proposals was launched under the Business Development and Innovation Croatia programme, which finances business growth and an increase in activities in existing companies (financing travel costs is also possible). The programme is funded by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism and the Fund Manager is Innovation Norway.

The call was launched on 23 November 2022 and is open by 31 January 2023 until 2 p.m.

Allocated allocations are:

  • Total amount available for funding: 6.045.512 €
  • Scheme of individual projects: 5.045.512 €
  • Small aid scheme for small and medium-sized enterprises €1,000,000

Grant rate may vary of 10% up to 70 %, depending on the type of State aid granted, the size of the applicant entity, the profitability of the project, the general financial situation of the applicant and other elements of the provisions of the Regulation relevant to the project in question. Applicants should not expect to receive maximum grant rates under State aid rules.

The focus areas of the Call are Green Industry Innovation and Blue Growth.

  • Eligible applicants: SMEs, as defined in Commission Recommendation 2003/3611, and large enterprises, where public ownership does not exceed 25%, registered as legal persons in Croatia and operating in accordance with Croatian company law: Act NN 40/2019 (Croatian Companies Act). The applicant must be registered for at least three years on the closing date of these Tenders.
  • Eligible partners: Any private or public entity, commercial or non-commercial, registered as a legal person in the Donor State (Norway) or in Croatia.

Small grant scheme for SMEs (SGS 1) for the Innovation Focus Areas Green Industry and Blue Growth

  • Eligible applicants: SMEs, as defined in Commission Recommendation 2003/361, registered as legal persons in Croatia and operating under Croatian company law: Act NN 40/2019 (Croatian Companies Act). The applicant must be registered for at least one year on the closing date of these Tenders.
  • Eligible partners: Any private or public entity, commercial or non-commercial, registered as a legal entity
    person in the Donor State (Norway) or in Croatia.

[OPTIONAL CALL] Co-financing the development of commercialisation of an innovative product or service

In order to encourage development and innovation, the 𝐅𝐈𝐏𝐑𝐎 Foundation, in cooperation with the City of Rijeka, has published a public call: ‘Co-financing the development of commercialisation of innovative products or services“. The project was launched in order to increase the supply of finance to entrepreneurs at the stage of placing innovation on the market.

The funds are intended to cover part of the eligible costs for the development and commercialisation of an innovative product or service:

  • Natural persons (initiators of innovative ideas who are willing to register economic activity in the territory of the city of Rijeka),
  • Entities of a small business which are entirely privately owned and have their headquarters in the territory of the city of Rijeka.

Leading Croatian companies looking for innovative solutions – sign up for the Manufacturing Innovation Challenge!

Manufacturing Innovation Challenge is a project organized by the EIT Manufacturing Hub Croatia and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture of the University of Zagreb, which aims to connect leading manufacturing companies and innovative teams (students, startups, independent teams of interested professionals and enthusiasts) and encourage open innovation in the manufacturing industry.

The presentation of this year's edition will be held on Monday, 24 October 2020 at 2.30 pm in room U7, RiTeh (Vukovarska street 58, Rijeka). In the presentation you can find out all about this interesting competition that was prepared for the winners Valuable cash prizes and ask questions to the EIT Manufacturing Hub Croatia team members.

The goal of the Innovation Challenge is to solve challenges in leading production organizations in Croatia, i.e. in companies Podravka and JGL. By sharing knowledge, networking and under the mentorship of leading experts in a particular field, the teams compete in creating the best solution that will help solve one of the given challenges. This innovative challenge provides a unique opportunity for cooperation with successful manufacturing companies, education and mentoring through a structured innovation creation program with the support of experienced mentors and the opportunity to meet colleagues, potential partners, clients or employers.

Applications for EITMIC is open until 4 November 2022. The competition itself will take place from 5 November to 8 December 2021 in hybrid (online/live) format. During the competition, the teams work on creating the best solution and present it internally to the companies that have defined it. The top-rated team from each group will present their solution at the final event.
