Innovation grants in the blue economy

Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises developing innovative solutions in the field of blue economy will soon have the opportunity to get a grant through the project SEAS - Sustainable Enterprises Advancing Blue Solutions.

The project is focused on the development and commercialization of innovative products and services through Cross-border cooperation between Croatian and Italian companies, with the aim of strengthening innovation capacity, developing new business models and opening up new market opportunities.

What is the purpose of the call?

The call supports the development, testing and commercialization of innovative solutions in the field of blue economy and encourages long-term cooperation between companies from Croatia and Italy.

Projects are carried out with Mandatory partnership of at least one Croatian and one Italian company.

Who can apply?

You can apply:

  • micro-enterprises
  • small businesses
  • medium-sized enterprises

from Croatia and Italy developing innovative solutions in the field of blue economy.

Eligible activities

Projects that develop or market innovative solutions (TRL 5 and above) in areas such as:

  • processing and distribution of fishery and aquaculture products;
  • Blue biotechnology;
  • renewable energy from the sea;
  • maritime infrastructure and robotics;
  • sustainable maritime transport;
  • port activities;
  • coastal tourism;
  • desalination and other blue economy activities.

Funding

Total financing of SME projects is ensured EUR 2.05 million grants (half of the funds are for Croatian and half for Italian entrepreneurs).

Preparation for application

Project proposals will be submitted via the SEAS Platform, and the detailed conditions will be published in the Instructions for Applicants after the official publication of the call.

Grants for digitisation and process innovation in manufacturing

An invitation has been issued Process innovation in S3 areas, intended for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises from the processing industry that want to improve business processes through digitalisation, the green transition and the commercialisation of innovative products.

The aim of the call is to increase the competitiveness of enterprises through innovation of processes and organization of business and to encourage a more successful exit of innovative products to the market.

Subject of the call

The call supports projects introducing process and organisational innovations to commercialise innovative products or services. Particular emphasis is placed on:

  • digitalisation of business
  • green transition
  • adapting business processes
  • Development of new business models
  • training employees to apply new business models.

Purpose of the call

The purpose of the call is to support innovative micro, small and medium-sized enterprises from the manufacturing industry in commercialising innovative products that are new to the market and fall under one or more of the thematic priority areas Smart Specialization Strategies (S3).

Financial allocation

The implementation of the call is ensured €17,188,524.40 grants.

The aid amount per project is:

  • at least EUR 150,000
  • up to €450,000.

Aid intensity

The co-financing intensity shall be:

  • to 50 % eligible costs for aid for process and organisational innovation
  • to 50 % eligible costs for innovation aid for SMEs
  • to 75 % eligible costs for activities financed under the de minimis rules.

Eligible applicants

You can apply:

  • micro-enterprises
  • small businesses
  • medium-sized enterprises

operating within Sector C - Manufacturing (NKD 2025).

Projects are carried out independently (partnerships are not eligible).

Eligible activities

The call finances activities aimed at:

  • process innovation and business organisation with a focus on digitalisation and the green transition;
  • adapting innovative products or services to market requirements;
  • supporting project activities related to the implementation of the project.

The project must include at least one process innovation related to digitalisation or the green transition.

Deadline and method of submission of applications

Applications will be received from 1 September 2026 at 11 a.m. until the available funds are used up, and at the latest by 31 December 2026 at 11 a.m..

Project proposals are submitted electronically via the system eCohesion.

Questions and Answers

Applicants have the right to ask questions related to the Call continuously from the moment of publication of the call, and no later than fourteen (14) days before the deadline for submission of project proposals.

Open call for the green and digital transition of tourism entrepreneurs

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports Public call Competitiveness of the tourism economy 2026 – The green and digital transition of tourism entrepreneurs, aiming to strengthen competitiveness through sustainability, energy efficiency and digitalisation of business.

The call is intended for entrepreneurs who are active in the tourism and hospitality sector and want to improve their business through investments in green and digital processes.

Who can apply?

Eligible applicants are:

• micro, small and medium-sized enterprises
• crafts and cooperatives registered for tourism and catering activities
• family farms providing catering services
• natural persons landlords with a label Local Host/Your Host

Actions under the call

The call is implemented through five actions:

Measure A – Hotels
Measure B – OPG / Farmer
Measure C – Travel agencies
Measure D – Nautical tourism vessels
Measure E – Local Host Charges for your host

What is financed?

The call supports investments aimed at:

  • development of sustainable and innovative tourism products and services
  • Improving environmentally friendly business processes
  • circular economy
  • increasing energy efficiency
  • improving the provision of tourism services through the digitalisation of business

Financial allocation

Overall provision is made for the implementation of the call 3.403.640,00 EUR grants. The amount of aid per project varies by measure, while for Measure E it is possible to achieve up to 100 % eligible costs.

Deadline and method of application

For measures A, B and C Applications are open from 3 July to 30 July 2026 at 12:00.

For measures D and E applications are received from 31 July to 31 August 2026, i.e. until the available funds have been used up.

We are looking for the most innovative startup in Croatia for 2026.

HAMAG-BICRO has launched a public call for election the most innovative startup in Croatia for 2026, aimed at teams that want to present their solution, increase visibility and open up new growth opportunities.

The competition is conducted at the regional level for the areas of Adriatic, Pannonian and Northern Croatia, while the application for the the National Grand Prix Award, available to startups from all Croatian regions.

Who can apply?

Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises that:

  • were established after 1 January 2020
  • develop innovative products, services or technologies
  • contribute to strengthening regional innovation ecosystems and value chains
  • operate in accordance with the Smart Specialisation Strategy of the Republic of Croatia (S3) and the Industrial Transition Plans

What do selected startups get?

Selected startups will have the opportunity to:

  • present their solutions at leading startups and technology conferences
  • make contacts with investors, partners and mentors
  • be included in promotional brochures and video materials
  • increase its national and international visibility
  • open new doors for business development and growth

How is the selection carried out?

Registered startups will be evaluated according to predefined criteria of quality and innovation, and the best will win the titles of the most innovative startups of their regions and the national Grand Prix award.
