[ANNOUNCEMENT CALL] Mentoring network

Are you an experienced professional, entrepreneur or manager who is willing to help provide mentoring support services to entrepreneurs in starting and developing a business?

Croatian Agency for SMEs, Innovations and Investments (HAMAG-BICRO) Public Call for Applications for Establishment and Testing of Mentoring Networks within the project BOND 2. The purpose of establishing mentoring networks is to provide mentoring services to users in starting and developing business in the Republic of Croatia through entrepreneurial support institutions in accordance with the stage of development, activities and needs of entrepreneurs.

Mentor networks are formed around three attributes of mentors:

  1. Area of business expertise (areas in which the mentor possesses skills and knowledge and has acquired them through formal education, lifelong learning and training).
  2. Sector of economic activity (experience of working in sectors of economic activity during a career, knowledge of the role of a particular business sector first-hand and contacts made).
  3. Type of support (mentor advisor and/or mentor for business development)

Call "Start-up/Spin Off Young Researcher Enterprises" published

The Ministry of Science and Education has announced a competition Start up/spin off enterprise young researchers What is the purpose Encouraging entrepreneurial activity of young researchers through incentives to start their own start-up/spin-off company.

The call is intended to establish a start-up/spin-off company in the (co-)ownership of one or more young researchers employed by a public research organisation. The company is expected to have a regulated relationship with the public research organisation, in the form of agreements on the use of intellectual property rights and other rights related to the commercialisation of the results of the research and development activities of the public research organisation.

Minimum grant amount: 66.000,00 €

Maximum grant amount: 200.000,00 €

The deadline for submitting documents is 17 May 2023.

Eligible applicant:

  • meets the definition of micro or small enterprise and has been established no more than five years before the date of submission of the project proposal and has not yet distributed profits.
  • is (co-)owned by one or more young researchers employed at a public research organisation in the Republic of Croatia; 
  • has regulated terms of use of intellectual property for the technology or solution that is the subject of the project, in the form of an Agreement with a public research organisation.

Start-up/spin-off company – an enterprise not older than five years, the business of which is based on original research or technologies developed by a research organisation.
Young researchers – PhD students and researchers up to 7 years after obtaining their PhD.

European Parliament i Foundation of the International Charlemagne Prize once again this year, the Aachen Prize is awarded to inspiring projects that change Europe and are led by young people from across the EU.

Three winning projects are selected. The first prize is €7,500, the second €5,000 and the third €2,500. Representatives of all national winning projects will be invited to the awards ceremony in Aachen, Germany.
