LIFE European City Facility (EUCF) provides financial support to local authorities in the European Union, Iceland and Ukraine to enable them to develop investment concepts for activities aimed at achieving energy sustainability and energy efficiency.
The sixth call for applications will be open from 15 January to 15 March 2024 which will allow payment to be made €60,000 in a lump sum for 70 selected local self-government units. The EUCF will also provide practical support to local actors in developing their investment concepts, as well as capacity building and partnering opportunities for beneficiaries. All this is aimed at finding private or public sources of funding for your project ideas.
Grants can be used to produce technical feasibility studies, legal analyses, market analyses and more.
Who can apply?
Cities/municipalities, their groups, as well as local public entities bringing together municipalities/local administrations located entirely in the European Union. All Member States (EU-27), Iceland or Ukraine are eligible to apply for EUCF support.
Beneficiaries can engage local and regional energy agencies to develop an investment concept for their energy sustainability projects.
Preparations are starting now!
Potential applicants are informed that they will 17 November 2023 under the Interreg Slovenia-Croatia Programme 2021-2030 20-2027 in the Official Journal of the Republic of Slovenia and at the Programme Website launch an Open Call for submission of project applications for small projects.
The program is conducted on the basis of an open public call. This means that applicants can submit project applications continuously from the opening of the call, as long as funds are available. Together with the open call, all relevant guidelines and information will be published.
The first workshops for applicants will be organised after the launch of the open call for project applications, and are scheduled for December 2023.
City of Rijeka published Public call for applications for non-repayable subsidies from the General Programme of Measures to Encourage the Development of Entrepreneurship in the City of Rijeka.
Objective
- Non-refundable subsidies are granted to entrepreneurs with the aim of strengthening their competitive position in the market and achieving additional practical education and better information in entrepreneurship.
Eligible applicants
- small business entities defined by the law governing the promotion of the development of a small business, which are entirely privately owned, having their registered office or domicile in the territory of the city of Rijeka,
- associations whose purpose is to promote the economic interests of the members of the cluster, which have their headquarters in the territory of the city of Rijeka or at least one member with their headquarters in the territory of the city of Rijeka and which operate positively. For the purposes of this Public Call, the concept of cluster is understood as the concept of connecting undertakings within an industrial sector in order to better market a particular type of product and/or service.
Measures eligible for non-repayable support
- Subsidising product and process certification
- Subsidising the construction of a brand of products and/or services
- Encouraging the pooling of economic operators
- Subsidizing the introduction of IT systems and applications into business
- Subsidising the costs of implementing industrial design
- Subsidising the acquisition and installation of machinery and equipment
- Subsidisation of costs of start-up entrepreneurs
- Subsidising the costs of drafting project proposals for co-financing from EU funds
- Subsidisation of the costs of vocational training and upskilling of employees
- Investments in equipment and appliances – linked to the transition of energy use

Applications are received from 26 September 2023 at 08:00 until 13 October 2023 at 16:00 exclusively through the Information Service of the City of Rijeka (on-line application/e-form), where there are detailed instructions on the application procedure.

ACCEPTABLE COSTS
- the production or supply of the necessary equipment, tools and materials for the production of innovation where it cannot be contracted as an external service;
- making, testing, perfecting a prototype of a product or process for the provision of a service;
- market launch preparations, promotional activities and contracting and development activities of distribution and sales channels;
- certification or certification of products or services with a view to market entry;
- search the state of the art, preparation and protection of intellectual property.
