[OPTIONAL CALL] Expression of interest for co-financing major international sports competitions in 2024

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports Public call for expression of interest for co-financing of major international sports competitions in 2024 for selection purposes Major International Sports Competitions with the aim of bringing sports closer to citizens, animation of children and young people for sports, health prevention, etc., as well as encouraging the investment of funds from the state budget of the Republic of Croatia for the purchase of sports equipment and the rehabilitation and adaptation of the publicly available existing sports infrastructure that would remain in the service of sports after the completion of the international sports competition.

Eligible applicant

  • registered in Register of Associations of the Republic of Croatia and operates in the territory of the Republic of Croatia for at least one year ending on the date of publication of the Call;
  •  registered in Register of non-profit organisations at the Ministry of Finance and conducts transparent financial operations in accordance with the regulations on non-profit accounting;
  •  registered in Register of sports activities and registered to perform sports activities in accordance with the provisions of the Sports Act or entered in the Register of Legal Entities in Sport in the National Sports Information System;
  • and others referred to in point 4. Invitation

Eligible partners

  • association, institution or company registered in the Register of Sports Activities or registered in the Register of Legal Entities in Sport in NISUS and registered for sports activities in accordance with the Sports Act

Total value of the Call 

  • 2.076.567,00 EUR

Minimum amount of co-financing

  • 100.000,00 EUR

Maximum amount of co-financing

  • 600.000,00 EUR

Amount of aid

  • up to 60% eligible costs of the total amount required for the organisation of a major sporting event;

Eligible activities

  • organising major international sports competitions in the Republic of Croatia,
  • participation of Croatian athletes at major international sports competitions in the Republic of Croatia,
  • activities that will lead to the achievement of the set objectives.

Eligible costs

  • accommodation, food and organized transportation of athletes, professional teams of athletes, officials participating in the organization and management of the sports competition (such as judges, delegates, volunteers, etc. …) and official representatives of international sports federations during the Project in the Republic of Croatia;
  • Permits/rights to organize the Project (listings according to international sports associations);
  • equipment related to the purchase (and rental) of sports equipment, sports equipment and other equipment necessary for the implementation of the Project;
  • rehabilitation and/or adaptation of publicly available sports infrastructure necessary for the implementation and maintenance of the Project;
  • rental of premises for conducting preparations and competitions of athletes;
  • medical services/health care of athletes;
  • anti-doping controls;
  • insurance for athletes;
  • making diplomas, plaques, cups, medals, etc.;
  • securing the Project and sports facilities during the competition (firefighters, emergency medical service, police, security guards, etc.);
  • Organisations (offices for the organisation, production and distribution of tickets, opening and closing ceremonies and press spaces);
  • official uniforms (for persons involved in the preparation and implementation);
  • promotion and advertising with the aim of visibility of the Project in the maximum amount of up to 10% the total amount of co-financing;
  • educational activities held within the project. 

Partner's costs participating in the organisation of a major project shall be considered justified in the same way as the costs of the applicant itself.

[OPTIONAL CALL] 2nd Call for Proposals for Transnational Cooperation Programmes of the Danube Region 2021 is open. 20-2027

Danube Transnational Cooperation Programme 2021 20-2027 On 2 November 2023, he opened the second call for proposals It invites interested public and private organisations to submit project proposals. The call will be open until 29 March 2024 at 2 p.m..

The programme provides an opportunity for cooperation in strategic areas within the Danube region between EU member states and neighbouring countries, and includes nine EU member states (Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Germany) and five non-member countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, Moldova and Ukraine).

Under the second call, the Programme will finance projects addressing, inter alia, climate change adaptation, strengthening environmental protection and biodiversity, increasing labour market efficiency and access to high-quality employment, improving access to education, as well as strengthening the role of culture and sustainable tourism in economic development, social inclusion and social innovation.

It is open to applicants 7 specific objectives:

  • SO 2.2 Climate change adaptation and disaster risk prevention;
  • SO 2.3 Access to water and sustainable water management;
  • SO 2.4 Protection and conservation of nature and biodiversity;
  • SO 3.1 Labour markets and access to quality employment;
  • SO 3.2 Education, training and lifelong learning;
  • SO 3.3 Culture and sustainable tourism;
  • SO 4.2 Institutional capacity for territorial and macro-regional governance.

The value of the call is about €38 million from the Interreg fund; with a co-financing rate of 80%. Project proposals shall be submitted in one step requesting applicants to prepare and submit a complete application form via the electronic software system – Jems.

Project proposals must include a minimum of 3 financial partners from minimal 3 countries the programme area. Project partners from the entire territory of the Republic of Croatia are eligible, i.e.:

  • National, regional and local public authorities;
  • Private institutions (profit and non-profit);
  • International organisations operating under the national law of an EU Member State or (with limitations) under international law.

[CALL] Digitalisation vouchers

The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development has opened a new round of calls Digitalisation vouchers in order to increase the level of digital maturity of SMEs through the development of digital business models, strengthening the capacity to implement digitalisation and digital transformation or enhancing cybersecurity, which will ultimately increase the competitiveness and resilience of enterprises through the use of digital technologies.

This call encourages implementation-oriented investments by SMEs digitalization and digital transformation of business training and services to improve digital skills (including those related to cloud technologies), adapt business models to digital transformation, digital marketing, cyber resilience and deployment of complex digital solutions;

Objective of the call

Contribute increasing the level of digital maturity of SMEs; through the development of digital business models, strengthening the capacity to implement digitalisation and digital transformation or improving cybersecurity, which will ultimately increase the competitiveness and resilience of enterprises through the use of digital technologies.

Amount of aid

The maximum grant amount that can be awarded to a project depends on the type of voucher and is in euro:

  • Voucher to improve digital skills – 9.990,00
  • Digital marketing voucher – 9.990,00
  • Voucher for the development of a digital transformation strategy – 9.990,00
  • Cyber Resilience Diagnostic Voucher – 14,500,00
  • Voucher for complex digital solutions – 19.900,00

Aid intensity

Aid intensity determined for grants/vouchers of 60% eligible costs.

Eligible applicants

Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises with at least 1-3 employees, depending on the type of voucher, on a full-time basis in the previous month.

Eligible service providers

Only legal and natural persons registered in Catalogue of Digital Vouchers.

Number of project proposals

Only one voucher may be requested by the applicant in one project proposal. Applicants may submit more than one project proposal per Call, but not at the same time.

In the award procedure, the applicant may have at the same time only one project proposal requesting the award of vouchers for services provided exclusively by one service provider and covering one or more activities eligible for the requested type of voucher. If the applicant submits two or more project proposals at the same time (within the same deadline), all submitted project proposals will be excluded from the award procedure.

A maximum of two (2) vouchers may be used by one applicant under this Call, provided that they are of different types.

Eligible project activities

The voucher refers to specialized non-formal learning programs aimed at the development of digital skills that will enable the applicant's employees to carry out digitalisation, i.e. to use digital marketing and communication tools (working in e-commerce and m-commerce, online advertising, administration of the company's website), for data analysis and data management, application development, software design, digital design, for cloud business, etc.

The activities of this voucher include the creation of enterprise websites, e-commerce, mcommerce, including the development and testing of mobile commerce applications, upgrading existing solutions – business channels through redesign and upgrading with new functionalities, as well as opening new and improving existing communication channels and improving customer relations.

The company's digital transformation strategy includes defining achievable digital transformation goals and creating measures to achieve the set goals, including an analysis of the current state and environment, testing the potential for business optimization through digitalisation, process and organisation optimization, and other measures that can contribute to the adaptation of the organisation to business in the digital age, as well as a methodology for monitoring the implementation of the digital strategy (with key indicators – KPI). The digital transformation strategy should be aligned with the business strategy of the company (to which strategic orientations and to which the existing strategic objectives relate), i.e. with the business plan and objectives, in case the company does not have a developed business strategy.

The activity should result in a clear action plan according to which the company can act so that after its implementation it can say that it has successfully adapted to the digital age through the introduction of new application solutions, change of organizational culture, process optimization and other ways.

The activities of the voucher include the verification of the cybersecurity of the company through the implementation of system security checks/data permeability checks, the implementation of penetration tests with the preparation of related reports, through the implementation of security testing and the detection of cyber threats to the company's information system. They also include the analysis of collected data and defining additional system improvements and generating reports for the needs of regulators, certification houses, etc., and the education of employees by service providers to increase training, to achieve cybersecurity of the company for a minimum duration of 3 hours.

Activities that can be funded with this voucher include the service of deploying complex digital solutions that will enable the company to develop digital business models, strengthen the capacity to implement digitalisation and digital transformation, such as solutions for Industry 4.0, development of network systems and processes, IoT (Internet of Things), smart services, automation, projects involving Big Data (big data), simulation models, virtual and augmented reality, integrated systems (e.g.: BI and analytics, market integration (drop-shipping) in at least one large market, enterprise resource planning, digital productivity solutions and customer relationship management solutions, including key indicators – KPI for each solution delivered, and training of employees by service providers on the acquisition of advanced digital skills related to the purpose of vouchers for a minimum duration of
Six o'clock.

Activities should be aligned with the company's digital transformation strategy, i.e. the business strategy of the company if the company does not have a developed digital transformation strategy.
