On 29 June 2021, Blue Green City partners attended the ninth online meeting organised by the lead partner – Metropolis Nice Côte d’Azur. 

The meeting followed the previous meeting held on 25 May 2021, i.e. the presentation of best practices in the field of implementation of the GBI concept identified individually by the project partners, in accordance with the regional context and the real situation in the implementation of best practices.

In this direction, a part of the partners held again short presentations on recognized best practices in the field of the implementation of the concepts of blue and green infrastructures and at the partnership level discussed the possibilities of portability of the same or implementation individually at the regional level in accordance with the specificities of individual regions.

“Strengthening cultural heritage through digitalisation: Insights into the Adriatic area’ is the name of the online conference organised on 24 June by the participants of as many as five cross-border projects: TEMPUS, ECOMAP, MADE-IN-LAND, RECOLOR and REVIVAL financed from the EU programme INTERREG V A ITALY-CROATIA. On this occasion, project partners from both countries, Italy and Croatia, will promote the use of IT technologies in virtual visits to cultural institutions.

The event presents different approaches and methods focused on how the Adriatic regions can improve and valorise their cultural heritage thanks to information technology tools. Since 2001, the mass digitisation campaign has been promoting the creation of collections of European, national and thematic digital repositories belonging to EU galleries, libraries, archives and museums.

The conference will address digitalisation in various its forms, such as augmented and virtual reality, artificial intelligence and opportunities to improve the cultural sector through the use of digitalisation, sustainable and innovative technologies to improve marine and coastal areas, possibilities to use existing projects to strengthen the potential of cultural heritage, connecting tourist visitors and small businesses through smart solutions and new tools, and tools to revive and improve the heritage and landscape of the Adriatic region. A virtual tour of the forgotten heritage will also be organised and a virtual exhibition created to encourage new entrepreneurial ideas and a virtual experience called “Diocletian’s Dream” will be presented.

Although IT cannot replace the emotion of a direct visit to a cultural site, it can improve the visitor experience, support people who cannot travel, facilitate collaborative research of scientists working in different laboratories, and facilitate the preservation and restoration of ancient artifacts.

The TEMPUS project – Temporary Applications as an Initial Action for the Improvement of Port (No) Material Heritage – brings together nine partners from Croatia and Italy with the aim of restoring abandoned urban port areas while respecting the cultural heritage and community customs of three pilot areas: Ravenna, Solin and Rivers.

 

 

After successful completion of the first phase of the pilot project Development of a network of entrepreneurial support institutions through the Croatian Agency for SMEs, Innovations and Investments (HAMAG-BICRO) and established the BOND Network which currently brings together 91 Entrepreneurial Support Institutions (EEIs) from the entire territory of the Republic of Croatia, HAMAG-BICRO continues the implementation of the second phase of the BOND project (BOND 2), the aim of which is to contribute to increasing the level of entrepreneurial activities by creating a more favourable entrepreneurial environment throughout the Republic of Croatia, thus ensuring stable growth and balanced regional development of the entire economy.

From 9. to 11 June 2021 the Amadria Park Grand Hotel 4 Opatija Flower Opatija held Opening conference of the BOND 2 project The event will also be organised as part of the event. Founding Assembly of the Association BOND Network, during which the Rijeka Development Agency Porin, as a new member of the network, is represented by director Dario Zorić. During the three-day conference intended for all old and new members of the BOND Network, workshops will be held on the topics of development of new services for entrepreneurs, standardization of consulting services for entrepreneurs in growth and development and strengthening the competencies of employees of PPI, i.e. members of the BOND Network.

What is BOND?

BOND is a unique network of different types of entrepreneurial support institutions (ENTIs) whose task is to provide support to entrepreneurs.

The BOND network represents a platform for the overall development of the capacity and quality of PPI services, and provides entrepreneurs with a unified approach to business knowledge, skills, partners, information and services important for starting and developing a business. In this way BOND is also positioned as a strategic partner to policy makers of development policies and measures for the development of entrepreneurship in Croatia.

Members of the BOND Network differ according to the type and type of entrepreneurial support institutions: development agencies (local, regional and development agencies of certain activities), business centres, business incubators (entrepreneurial incubators, incubators for new technologies), business accelerators, technology parks, competence centres.

The City of Rijeka and the Croatian Chamber of Economy are organizing a workshop within the EU project RESTART_4Danube (Danube Transnational Programme) with an umbrella theme

Sustainable conversion of industrial buildings

The workshop will be held on Wednesday, 16 June 2021, starting at 11 a.m. at the Torpedo Production Park in Rijeka, M. Barača 60.

In accordance with the theme, the workshop will present the projects of the City of Rijeka within which the renovation and conversion of abandoned industrial facilities has been carried out, or the regeneration process is in progress: Energana – incubator for creative technologies and IT industry, City of Rijeka Museum, Torpedo Production Park and Children’s House. After the presentations, a discussion will be organized on the topic of the application of 3D technology in creative industries in order to collect proposals and ideas of participants for contributing to the development of cultural and creative industries in Rijeka, and then a tour of the Torpedo Production Park and its technology laboratory for additive technology is planned.
