Information on the new financial instrument

The Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development signed a Financing Agreement with Erste & Steiermarkische bank d.d., Privredna banka d.d. and Zagrebačka banka d.d. for the implementation of the new financial instrument - ESIF Growth and Development Loans .

Loans from this financial instrument will be with 50% financed from the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) at an interest rate of 0%and 50% from the sources of these commercial banks at the market interest rate to be determined by the commercial bank. For the end-user, this means an interest rate half as low as it would have been without the use of this instrument (orientation between 1-2%).

It is important to note that end-users will be exempted from paying any fees normally charged:

  • for the processing of a credit application
  • Concluding a contract
  • and regular use of credit.

The borrowers can be small and medium-sized entrepreneurs who have been operating for at least 2 years before submitting an application to a commercial bank. Investments in the processing industry, tourism and in the creative industry and knowledge-based services are allowed, and the funds will be able to be used to invest in tangible and intangible assets, transfer ownership rights and with the possibility of up to 30% the loan amount is used for working capital (linked to the investment).

The lowest amount of the loan is the kuna equivalent of EUR 100,000.00, and the highest amount is the kuna equivalent of EUR 3,000,000,00, or EUR 10,000,000,00 for investment in the tourism sector. The loan repayment period is up to 12 years (including a grace period of 2 years), i.e. for the tourism sector 17 years (including a grace period of 4 years).

Announcement of the first project team meeting

First Project Team Meeting

 

 

As part of the project Reconstruction and conversion of Hall 14 into a Technological and Educational Entrepreneurial Incubator PRODUCTION PARK TORPEDO, the first meeting of project partners, the so-called kick of meeting, will be held on Tuesday, 31 October 2017 in the premises of the City of Rijeka.

 

The aim of the meeting is to present project activities, obligations of project partners and associates, explanation of the project budget, expected results and procurement plan. Likewise, for the purpose of preparing the first project implementation report, activities for the first quarter will be presented.

 

The meeting will be attended by project team members and project associates.

Summary: The call is implemented under the Operational Programme ” Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014-2020, Priority Axis 4 “Promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy sources”; Specific objective 4b1 ‘Increasing energy efficiency and the use of RES in manufacturing industries’.

The total available grant amount for the award under this Call is HRK 114,000,000.00.

Minimum amount aid per individual project: 350.000,00 HRK
Maximum amount aid per individual project: 20.000.000,00 HRK

Applicants

Applicants under this Call can be micro, small, medium and large private companies[1]registered to carry out activities in the manufacturing industry which include all manufacturing and processing activities in accordance with the National Classification of Activities published in the Decision on the National Classification of Activities 2007 – NKD 2007 (NN Nos 58/27, 72/07), with the exception of the activities of production and processing of food, beverages and tobacco products. In accordance with the above description and the Decision, applicants who are undertakings registered to carry out activities in Sections B, 05-09 and C, 13-33 are eligible.

Purpose(s) of the call

The purpose of the call is to support the implementation of energy efficiency measures and/or measures for the use of renewable energy sources that will lead to a reduction in the consumption of delivered energy of at least 20 in production facilities.% in relation to the reference delivered energy or in relation to the consumption of delivered energy before the implementation of the measures.
In addition to energy efficiency measures and/or installation of equipment for the use of renewable energy sources in production facilities, the project proposal may also include energy renovation measures for buildings accompanying the production facility, which are exclusively related to the production processes of industrial and/or production-economic purposes (such as office buildings, production halls, etc.) (hereinafter: buildings). In this case, it will support the implementation of energy efficiency measures and the installation of equipment for the use of renewable energy sources that will lead to a reduction in the consumption of delivered heating/cooling energy of at least 40 in buildings.% in relation to the consumption of delivered energy before the implementation of the measures.

This Call is conducted as an open procedure in the modalities of the Interim Call for Proposals with the deadline for the submission of project proposals by 17 January 2018, and the submission of project proposals is allowed from 10 November 2017 at the earliest. 

[1] Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises’ or ‘SMEs — these’ means enterprises that fulfil the conditions set out in Annex I to Commission Regulation (EU) No 651/2014 of 17 June 2014 declaring certain categories of aid compatible with the internal market in application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union. A ‘large enterprise’ is an enterprise which does not fulfil the conditions set out in Annex I to Regulation No 651/2014.

Winners of the prize game “Energy saves and rewards deserves” drawn

On 29 September 2017, at 10.00 a.m., the second round of the FIESTA prize draw was held as part of the FIESTA prize competition ‘Energy Savings and Rewards Benefits’, which was carried out as part of the European FIESTA project – Families Intelligent Energy Saving Targeted Actions. The prize draw was held at the premises of the Rijeka Development Agency Porin d.o.o. and 10 winners were drawn.

The prize game is approved by Decision (CLASS: UP/I-460-02/17-01/533; REFERENCE: 513-07-21/17-3), Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Croatia in Zagreb, 25 September 2017.

The three-member prize draw committee was composed of : Directors of the Rijeka Development Agency Porin, Ernest Cukrov and Nevenka Kos and Leja Barić, employees of the Rijeka Development Agency Porin, who also carried out the draw of the winners under the leadership of the City of Rijeka.

The right to participate was acquired exclusively by adult representatives of family households residing in the territory of the City of Rijeka, provided that they participated in the activities of the FIESTA project with one coupon each in household workshops where educated FIESTA energy advisors filled out a questionnaire with the aim of expressing the consumption of electricity in the household, through educational workshops and through participation in free energy consultations.

As part of the FIESTA prize competition, another round of prize draws will be held for citizens who participate in the project.

The total value of the FIESTA project is 2.379.827,00 EUR, of which the EU co-financing amounts to 1.708.250,00 EUR, or 72 percent. The estimated budget for the City of Zadar is 79,298,00 EUR, of which the EU co-financing amounts to 60,772,00 EUR.

The project is funded by the CIP Intelligent Energy Europe (CIP IEE) programme and its implementation started on 1 October 2014 and will last until 30 September 2017, i.e. 36 months.

The project consortium consists of 19 partners from five European countries (Italy, Spain, Croatia, Bulgaria and Cyprus), and the project coordinator is the AREA Science Park from Trieste. The City of Zadar is a partner in the project.

The aim of the project is to encourage citizens to save energy in households, and to encourage them to change their mindset about the consumption of electricity in terms of more efficient use of their household appliances, heating systems and cooling.
