Construction of recycling yards

Status:open from 29.3.2017 to 31.12.2018

Competent authority:Ministry of Environment and Energy

Area:protection of nature and the environment

Applicants:local self-government units

Summary:

The objective of this Call for Proposals is to provide support to local self-government units in the form of grants to be used for the implementation of activities for the construction and equipping of recycling yards. The Sustainable Waste Management Act (Narodne Novine (NN; Official Gazette of the Republic of Croatia) No 94/13) lays down the obligation for local self-government units to ensure the functioning of one or more recycling yards in their territory depending on the number of inhabitants. The construction of recycling yards includes construction works, equipment and supervision, technical assistance for project management and implementation of informative-educational activities.
The functional recycling yard in the municipal waste management system is one of the important components for the purpose of ensuring separate collection of primarily problematic (hazardous) waste, and waste paper, metal, glass, plastic, textiles and coarse (bulk) municipal waste.
The purpose of this call is to contribute to increasing the rate of separately collected municipal waste and reducing the amount of waste landfilled.
