[OPTION] Non-repayable support for the organisation of events in 2026

The City of Rijeka Public call for grants for the organisation of events in the city of Rijeka in 2026, with the aim of strengthening the local economy and promoting Rijeka as a business and tourist centre.

For the implementation of the Public Call is ensured €50,000, and individual applicants can obtain support of between €1,000 and €7,000, depending on the number of points obtained.

Which events are acceptable?

The aid is intended for events of direct economic and tourist importance for the city of Rijeka.

Eligible event formats include:

  • business congresses, festivals and fairs,
  • business conferences, forums and B2B meetings,
  • panels, workshops, seminars, round tables and expert lectures.

The public call is not intended for cultural, entertainment, sports or similar events of no economic significance.

Who can apply?

You can apply Privately owned economic operators, regardless of size, having its registered office in the Republic of Croatia (companies, crafts, cooperatives, associations engaged in economic activity, etc.).

Each applicant may submit a maximum of one application per event.

What is the amount of aid?

The amount of the non-repayable support depends on the number of points obtained and is awarded in four grades:

  • to 7.000 € (maximum score)
  • to 5.000 €
  • to 3.000 €
  • to 1.000 €

The minimum threshold for obtaining support is: 90 points.

What can be funded?

The eligible costs shall include, but are not limited to:

  • rental of premises and equipment,
  • fees of lecturers and external associates,
  • travel and accommodation expenses for trainers,
  • promotion and advertising of events,
  • production of promotional materials,
  • other costs directly related to the organisation of the event.

VAT costs, salaries of employees, regular business, souvenirs and indirect promotional activities are not eligible.

Deadline and method of application

Applications are open until 23 February 2026 at 4 p.m..

Applications must be submitted exclusively through the Information Service of the City of Rijeka (e-form), with the required documentation.

[OPTIONAL CALL] EUROSTARS 3: International R&D projects for innovative SMEs

HAMAG-BICRO Call for International Collaborative Projects under Eurostars 3 – European Partnership on Innovative SMEs (Call 10).

Eurostars?

Eurostars is a program for innovative R&D performing SMEs They want to develop new products, services or processes in cooperation with international partners.

Eurostars is part of the European Partnership for Innovative Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, which The European Union co-finances through the Horizon Europe programme. The research programme in Croatia is funded by the Second Swiss Contribution to Reduce Economic and Social Inequalities in EU Member States.

The programme encourages SMEs to:

  • investment in research and development,
  • international cooperation;
  • development of innovations with the potential to be placed on the international market.

The basic requirement is participation. at least two Eurostars member countries in the project.

Who can apply?

The lead partner must be a small or medium-sized company actively conducting research and development (R&D performing SME).

The role of R&D companies in the project must be significant.

At least 50 % the total project costs of R&D activities must be met by SMEs implementing R&D (excluding subcontracting costs).

Financing, duration and costs of the project

  • Maximum aid amount: up to €200,000 per project
  • Aid intensity: up to 60 % for micro and small enterprises and up to 50 % for medium-sized enterprises
  • Duration of the project: up to 36 months

Costs are also eligible:

  • salaries of employees,
  • depreciation and small inventory,
  • external services,
  • travel expenses,
  • other development costs related to the project.
