PUBLIC CALL FOR THE AUTHORISATION OF PROJECT APPLICATIONS for the co-financing of research and development projects for entrepreneurs through the State Aid Programme for the Verification of Innovative Concept - PoC8

to co-finance research and development projects for entrepreneurs through the State Aid Scheme for the Verification of Innovative Concept – PoC8

The eighth call for co-financing of projects through the State Aid Programme for the verification of the innovative concept invites interested parties who meet the conditions of the public call to submit their projects through the Recognised Centres in charge of providing support to competitors through the application process and project implementation. Detailed information on the Programme and the co-financing conditions can be found in the "Manual for the Operational Procedures of the Innovative Concept Verification Programme". The aim of the program is Supporting innovation at an early stage of research to provide pre-commercial capital for the technical and commercial validation of the innovative concept; and Strengthening private sector R&D&I capacities and capabilities.

The call is addressed to legal or natural persons who are:

  • natural persons who have a serious intention to set up a company and who do not own more than 50% shares in undertakings having the status of large undertaking engaged in the same activity as the PoC8 competitor;
  • Entrepreneurs (companies) falling into one of three categories: micro, small and medium-sized enterprises

Projects to be funded by the Programme must fall, as a minimum, into one of the first two categories, with the emphasis being placed on production in the laboratory environment in these categories:

  1. Prototyping
  • Demonstration of technical feasibility
  • Verification and protection of intellectual property

In addition to these three core activities, funds can also be used for additional eligible project activities:

Market analysis or feasibility study
Development of a concept and strategy for product development or commercialization (study or plan for commercialization)
Eligible projects will be co-financed in the amount of a minimum of HRK 100,000 to a maximum of HRK 500,000 and for a maximum duration of 12 months.

Aid intensity:

Micro and small enterprises:
The program finances up to 70 % the total eligible costs incurred in implementing those eligible actions. Competitor is obliged to provide at least 30 % own or other sources of funds.

Medium-sized enterprises:
The program finances up to 60 % the total eligible costs incurred in implementing those eligible actions. Competitors are required to provide at least 40 % own or other sources of funds.

Funding in the total amount of HRK 21,968,750.00 available for approved projects under this Public Call was provided from the Budget of the Republic of Croatia, through the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts and implemented by the Croatian Agency for Small Business, Innovation and Investments HAMAG-BICRO.

Deadlines:

Project applications will be received from 25 April 2019 to 2 September 2019 at 23:59:59. The application is submitted in such a way that, together with the supporting documentation, it is sent to one of the e-mail addresses of the recognized center you have chosen. All applications received after the deadline for submission will not be considered.
The deadline for administrative verification of eligibility by the identified centres is 5 working days from the date of closure of the call, i.e. until 9 September 2019. Recognized center informs competitors by e-mail about the outcome of the administrative check.
The deadline for submitting the results of the administrative eligibility check by the identified centres to HAMAG-BICRO is 23:59:59 on 10 September 2019. The results of the verification shall be sent to the following e-mail address: poc@hamagbicro.hr
HAMAG-BICRO will evaluate the received project applications in the eighth round of the Innovative Concept Verification Programme and inform each individual candidate of the outcome through the selected Recognized Centre.

The ranking list of positively evaluated applications will be publicly available on the HAMAG-BICRO website and the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts.

The contracting is planned for 1 December 2019.

The co-financing agreements for the projects selected in the eighth round will be signed depending on the available funding.

The aid granted under this public call does not fall under the category of “de minimis” aid, which is defined in the European Commission Regulation.

Summary

The Permanently Open Call for Proposals will be implemented under the Operational Programme Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014. Priority 3 "Business Competitiveness" - 2020; Investment priority 3d "Supporting the creation of the capacity of SMEs to engage in the growth process in regional, national and international markets and innovation processes"; Specific Objective 3d2 "Improved innovation of small and medium-sized enterprises".

The call is intended for start-ups of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises with the aim of encouraging them to successfully launch products and services with growth and export potential that are new to the market, with a focus on radical innovation and significant improvement in the commercialization of products and services. This Call will foster the innovation of start-ups to introduce innovations that result in a product/service that is new to the market.

Eligible applicants: micro, small and medium-sized enterprises

Total allocation: 150.000.000,00 HRK

Minimum grant amount: 150.000,00 HRK

Maximum grant amount: 1.400.000,00 HRK

Project proposals will be submitted through the eFondovi system between 15 February 2019 at 11:00 a.m. and 29 June 2020 at 11:00 a.m.

Step Ri calls on small and medium-sized manufacturing companies to take advantage of the opportunity to participate in the service development programme

Rijeka, 4 February – The University of Rijeka’s Step Ri Science and Technology Park has launched a public call for expressions of interest to participate in the 6-month programme of interactive workshops, education and counselling focused on the development of services in manufacturing companies.

The program is intended for small and medium-sized enterprises that want to complement their offer with innovative services and raise the value of their products, which can result in higher income, lower business risk, more favorable cost structure, higher offer value and entering new markets.

The small and medium-sized enterprises participating in the programme will:

  • have expert support in developing new services
  • undergo a structured and clearly defined programme of workshops, education and counselling;
  • develop new services that will be a supplement or complete substitute to the existing product offering
  • improve your business with the use of your own human resources, in a short period of time and with minimal investments and additional costs.

Participation in the programme is free of charge, i.e. companies will receive non-financial (de minimis) aid worth HRK 19,200 per company, and the number of participants is limited.

Companies wishing to participate are expected to:

  • participation of a team of experienced employees (minimum 2 persons);
  • a high level of engagement of team members with the support of high management during the execution of the program;
  • integration of the newly created offer (combinations of existing products and newly created services) into the existing business and its commercialization in domestic and foreign markets.

Program lasting from 6 months will be implemented April-September 2019 within the THINGS+ project co-financed by the European Union through the Interreg Central Europe programme.

COMPETITION OF THE TOURIST ECONOMY - Public call for projects

The Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Croatia, in accordance with the Tourism Development Strategy of the Republic of Croatia until 2020 and its action plans and national programmes related to the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, is publishing a public call for proposals for projects – Competitiveness of the tourism economy.

The objectives of the call are to improve the offer of small family hotels, sustainable development, green tourism and the development of special forms of tourism (health, cultural, cyclotourism, nautical, congress, rural).

In addition to the main objective of increasing the attractiveness and competitiveness of Croatian tourism, the Programme should also contribute to achieving the following strategic objectives of tourism development:
 improving the structure and quality of accommodation
 new employment
 Realisation of new investments
 Increase in tourist spending
 the development of tourism in underdeveloped areas
 prolonging the season until year-round tourism
