There is a call for BoostUp! 2022 competition EIT Manufacturing Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) for start-ups that have demonstrated the usefulness of their solutions through collaboration with a large manufacturing corporation, either through a pilot project or a PoC project that demonstrates the validity of their technology.
The competition is especially focused on start-ups with solutions that fall into one of the 4 flagship EIT Manufacturing Knowledge and Innovation Community fields:
- Flexible Production Systems for Competitive Manufacturing
- Low Environmental Footprint Systems & Circular Economy for Green Manufacturing
- Digital & Collaborative Solutions for Innovative Manufacturing Ecosystems
- Human-machine co-working for socially sustainable manufacturing
Up to eight start-ups will receive a cash prize from €20,000 to speed up the scaling of your solution. In addition, a cash prize from 5,000 euros will be awarded to the best ranked start-up coming from the RIS country (including Croatia) and the best ranked start-up led by a woman.
Application requirements:
- The company was founded in 2017 or later.
- Offer a solution that falls under TLR 7 or higher and belongs to one of the EIT M flagship areas
- You finished the pilot between 31. 7. 2021 and 31. 7. 2022 with manufacturing corporation (global income of this corporation in 2021 should be higher than 50 million)
- Your company has a dedicated full-time team (2 people+) and is based in any European Union or Horizon Europe country
- You have aggregate sales revenue of €5 million or less from the date of incorporation

Through the National Recovery and Resilience Programme 2021-2026, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development published the Call for Proposals ‘Supporting businesses for the transition to an energy- and resource-efficient economy“.
Objective of the Call support a faster adaptation of the economy to current and future environmental requirements, and reduce negative impacts on the climate and the environment, increase the sustainability of production, preserve existing and create new jobs, and strengthen local and regional competitiveness.
Subject matter of the call is boosting manufacturing investment by small and medium-sized and mid-cap private companies from energy-intensive industries;. Investments shall relate to the promotion of the circular economy, i.e. the introduction of resource efficiency into the production cycle and life cycle of products, as well as the reduction of harmful emissions of energy-intensive industries.
Total grant: 1.900.000.000,00 kn
Minimum grant amount: 750.000,00 kn
Maximum grant amount: 35.000.000,00 kn
Eligible applicants under this call:
- Small or medium-sized enterprise
- Private mid-cap company
from energy-intensive industries (classes from sector C according to NKD 2007):
- food industry (10) ,
- textile production (13),
- woodworking industry (16),
- paper industry (17),
- chemical industry (20),
- construction industry (23),
- metalworking industry (24).
Eligible actions that can be financed :
- Initial investments in tangible and intangible assets for the introduction of new technologies and technological solutions in business processes that result in more efficient use of resources and/or reduction of energy consumption and/or reduction of CO2 emissions
- investments necessary to incentivise the production of electricity/heat/cold from renewable sources (sun, wind, geothermal)
- carrying out an energy audit of small and medium-sized enterprises
- Preparation of technical documentation, project management and project audit
Period of receipt of applications: 1 August to 1 December 2022
Method of submitting project proposals:
Project proposals are submitted exclusively through the eNPOO system.
For the duration of the Call, potential applicants may ask questions in order to obtain further clarifications and explanations of the provisions of the Call exclusively through the eNPOO system, up to 14 calendar days before the deadline for the submission of project proposals.
The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development has launched a call for "Non-repayable support for digitalisation" aimed at micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
The call provides funding for introduction of digital solutions into business through investments in digital tools and equipment for the introduction of a new way of doing business, i.e. new or significantly improved production processes, delivery of services or organisational practices, and the strengthening of digital skills;. Total coverage is provided for the call $206 million, with the lowest individual grant amount of HRK 150,000 and the highest of HRK 750,000.
Eligible applicants shall be micro, small and medium-sized enterprises with at least 3 full-time employees in the previous calendar year. The activities that will be eligible for funding under the call are the development, development or procurement of digital solutions and technologies for the purpose of digital transformation of business processes or production, implementation, adaptation or integration of digital solutions and technologies, and strengthening of employees' digital skills related to the above activities.
The call is implemented as an open procedure in the modalities of the interim call for project proposals. This means that a deadline has been set for the submission of project proposals and, at the end of that deadline, an award procedure is launched which allows competition between all submitted project proposals on the basis of qualitative aspects.
Period of receipt of applications will be 1 July 2022 to 12 August 2022and projects will be after the closing of the call evaluate HAMAG-BICRO, which will result in the establishment of a scorecard and the adoption of financing decisions.

The LEADERS competition is intended for all women innovators (researchers, entrepreneurs, professionals, students) from EIT RIS countries, including Croatia, who have a leading role in developing solutions and initiatives aimed at addressing current challenges in the manufacturing industry with a strong financial, environmental or social impact.
In the first application round 30 contestants will be chosen and will receiveNline Sales Presentation Training (English: pitching).
In the second round 6 will contestant be selected to participate in the grand final, and the 3 best will have the opportunity to win cash prizes in the amount of 10.000 for the first, 7.500 for the second and 5.000 euro for third place, these ideas will gain visibility in the wider innovation community of the manufacturing industry!
