As part of the project implementation Fusilli, and in cooperation with the City of Rijeka as a project partner, this Friday, 11 October the Torpedo Production Park in 2024 (Milutina Barača 60, Rijeka) we are organizing an event with the beginning at 2 p.m. where you have the opportunity to find out what Rijeka is doing to meet the challenge of reducing food waste.

Every year, 1.3 billion tonnes of food are wasted in the world, 57 million tonnes in the European Union. Croatian citizens throw away 129,616 tons of edible food while 86,726 tons of inedible food are thrown away. Croatia has set a target to reduce food waste by 30 by 2028 %.

Join us and find out how, with limited resources, rising prices and too much waste to handle, it is increasingly difficult to change habits and not throw away food, but to deal with it differently.

In addition to presenting the results of an interesting research spent among our fellow citizens, a cookbook will be presented at the event Sustainable Tastes and Sustainable Budst, application Food Waste Analyzer and Food Waste Reduction Guide.

[COMPERENCE] Union programmes 2021 20-2027 – Funding opportunities and synergies with Cohesion Policy programmes

The Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds is organizing a conference ‘Union programmes 2021 20-2027 – Funding opportunities and synergies with Cohesion Policy programmes", which will take place in Wednesday, 16 October 2024 in Hotel Westin, Izidora Kršnjavoga Street 1, Zagreb from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The conference will be presented Union programmes available in the new multiannual financial period 2021-2030 20-2027, showing examples of good practice.

[COMPERENCE] Manufacturing Innovation as a Driver of the Future 2024.

EIT Manufacturing Hub Croatia i Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture University of Zagreb and this year, for the third year in a row, organizing Manufacturing Innovation as a Driver of the Future conference.

The conference aims to bring together key participants in the the domestic manufacturing industry, as well as any person interested in the course of the manufacturing industry in the future. Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the opportunities provided by the EIT Manufacturing Knowledge and Innovation Community and hear the experiences and opinions of experts from leading Croatian companies through interesting panel discussions and gain new skills through interactive workshops. This conference is an opportunity to get acquainted with startups and scaleups that participated in the Partnership for Growth programme. The winning startup team from this year's Manufacturing Innovation Challenge will be presented as well as projects EIT Manufacturing Hub Croatia, programme Partnership for Growth i Manufacturing Innovation Challenge

[CONFERENCE] EDIH Adria: Interesting discussions and great interest in digital solutions!

Torpedo Production Park Yesterday, he hosted the second conference of the EDIH Adria project. The event brought together a large number of participants from different industries interested in digital solutions and business transformation. the focus was on examples of successful implementation of digital tools and technologies that enabled companies to improve their business and achieve greater competitiveness in the market.

Presentation of the AI Assistant for Adria PA - key moment of the conference

One of the most memorable moments of the conference was the presentation of the development of the AI Assistant for Adria PA, which he held Benedict Perak. This innovative tool is designed to improve communication processes within the company, with a focus on automating and accelerating customer interactions. Through a detailed demonstration, Perak demonstrated how AI Assistant works in practice, highlighting its advanced functionalities, such as data analysis, real-time query processing and personalization of the user experience.

Participants had the opportunity to see how this AI tool helps optimize workflows, increase efficiency and reduce the time it takes to perform routine tasks. Due to its innovative characteristics, the AI Assistant project for Adria PA has been submitted for EDIH Network Awards, This further confirms its importance and potential for wider application.

Application of IoT technologies in solar projects – success for 3t.cable

Another important moment of the conference was the presentation of the project for 3t.cable, a company specialising in solar projects, which has also applied for the EDIH Network Awards. Saša Vojvodić, Ericsson Nikola Tesla, who led this presentation, pointed out that IoT Technology successfully implemented to optimise solar systems, thereby increasing their efficiency and long-term sustainability.

Vojvodić showed the participants concrete results of the implementation of the IoT solution, including improving the control of solar panels, optimizing energy production and reducing maintenance costs. This project illustrates how digital technologies can contribute to energy sustainability and improve business in the renewable energy sectors, which was one of the key topics of the conference. This project was also nominated for EDIH Network Awards, This highlights its innovativeness and practicality in the field of digital transformation.

Panel discussion - exchange of experiences and questions from the audience

The highlight of the conference was panel discussion in which they participated Davor Car from 3t.cable and Đani Poropat from Adria PA, moderated by Damir Medved, Director of the EDIH Adria project. The discussion focused on concrete experiences from the process of cooperation with the EDIH Adria project and the implementation of digital solutions in both companies, where panelists shared the challenges they met, as well as the benefits that digital innovations will bring to their organizations.

The audience showed great interest, asking numerous questions about the technical and operational aspects of the implementation, which made the discussion extremely interactive and useful for all participants. This dialogue further highlighted the importance of cooperation between the private sector, academia and innovation hubs in fostering the digital transformation.

EDIH Adria Annual Awards

At the end of the conference, it was EDIH Adria Annual Awards, This year, they went into the hands of the Istrian Development Agency IDA d.o.o.the Health Tourism Cluster, in recognition of the outstanding contribution and successful cooperation. These organizations are recognized for their proactiveness in informing their public about the EDIH Adria project and connecting with important stakeholders.

EDIH Adria 2024 once again confirmed the key role of digital innovation in the development and competitiveness of companies.
