[TEMPUS] Media coverage of TEMPUS – TEMPorary USes as start-up actions to enhance port (in)tangible heritage

Rijeka Development Agency Porin d.o.o. is a partner in the TEMPUS project It aims to connect partner cities with their ports and create a new space of social life that will foster creative entrepreneurship, as well as entrepreneurial initiatives in culture and tourism.

Through its activities, the project partners will implement 3 pilot projects in Rijeka, Solin and Ravenna to encourage the valorization of the space and its regeneration for new users. In short, the project aims to stimulate economic development based on the valorisation of the hidden tangible and intangible heritage of the ports, including the archaeological background and the natural context, starting with temporary use activities.

The objectives of the project are:

  • Valorization of the cultural heritage of city ports that will encourage the renovation and revitalization of historical buildings and places
  • Encouraging smaller financial interventions that will create links with culture, entrepreneurs, and society and values
  • Creating new city facilities that will attract tourists beyond the usual tourist offer
  • Dissemination of entrepreneurial culture and encouragement of entrepreneurial ventures based on sustainable tourism
  • Creating a new community dedicated to the sustainable development of the heritage of the Adriatic port in order to create a new economic development by including this heritage.

The duration of the project is 30 months (01.01.2019-31.06.2021). The project is co-financed by the Interreg Italy - Croatia Programme.

The total value of the project is:  2.706.920,00 EUR.
