Our story

Our story started in 1996 when we started working as one of the first entrepreneurial incubators in Croatia, Entrepreneurial Rijeka Incubator Porin. 

In order to create and develop small and medium-sized economic entities, the City of Rijeka, along with Riadria bank d.d. and Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, founded a company that becomes the center of the network of entrepreneurial infrastructure in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.

Continuous upgrading of activities through various entrepreneurial activities, Since 2004 we have been working as a regional development agency focused on the development of the economy and entrepreneurship, attracting investments and initiating and implementing projects to encourage economic development and entrepreneurship.

Since 2014 at 100 % we are owned by the City of Rijeka and under the name of the Rijeka Development Agency Porin We continue to carry out activities for the overall development at the local level.

Recognising the importance of innovation and high technologies, 2020 with the City of Rijeka we launch a new Technological and Educational Entrepreneurial Incubator Production Park Torpedo. On an additional 1,557.34 m2, entrepreneurs from the manufacturing sector were given the opportunity to develop their ideas into functional solutions – prototypes and later into products themselves with the help of our Tech Lab equipped with specialized industrial equipment for 3D scanning and 3D printing.

In 2021, we set ourselves as a direct link between citizens and EU institutions at regional and local level through EUROPE DIRECT Rijeka.

Through various initiatives and activities, we act as an extended arm of the European Commission by providing timely and useful information about the opportunities and benefits available to citizens of Rijeka and Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.

And today, our mission remains the same, which is to support entrepreneurs, encourage innovation and actively participate in the development of the local community.
