[CONFERENCE] A man learns while he's alive

The European Commission has declared 2023 the Year of Skills to strengthen European competitiveness, better target investment, engage with businesses and match their needs with people’s aspirations, and attract talent to the European continent. 

The European Commission wants to give a new impetus to lifelong learning in order to make better use of the potential of the European workforce, but also to improve the quality of opportunities in job-to-job transitions. It is important to link the ambitions and abilities of individuals to the opportunities and needs of the market, as well as the inclusiveness and employment of as many people as possible, especially young people and women currently unemployed. Having relevant skills empowers people to successfully cope with changes in the labour market and to fully engage in society and contribute to economic growth.

For this purpose, and as part of Europe Day18 May 2023, beginning at 1 p.m., in cooperation with Europe Direct Rijeka, the Croatian Employment Service - Rijeka the Youth Council of the City of Rijeka we are organising a conference entitled “A man learns while he's alive“. The conference will take place the Torpedo Production Park at Milutina Barača 60 in Rijeka (1st floor).

The conference will be magnified Signing of the agreement on cooperation the Centre for Information and Career Counselling (HZZ) i Rijeka Development Agency Porin d.o.o. This will allow for an even greater synergy effect in information, counselling and education of unemployed and employed people and joint projects.

Croatian Employment Service - Rijeka will present measures which it implements in the field of education and training of adults (unemployed and employed persons) with a special emphasis on education through vouchers, with a presentation on the topic “Aid for education, training and upskilling“.

The entire conference will be rounded up. Round table "Man learns while he is alive". The discussion will cover all relevant issues related to lifelong learning where participants will emphasize the needs of the labour market, present current offers for these needs and present examples of good practice.
