The Rijeka Development Agency Porin d.o.o. is a partner in the HINT LAB project, which promotes entrepreneurship in rural tourism, and is in charge of the activity ‘Model development and training development and the execution of workshops’. For this purpose, it organizes workshops for existing entrepreneurs and potential entrepreneurs from the area of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.
The HINT LAB project is funded under the Slovenia-Croatia European Territorial Cooperation programme. Lead partner of the project Univerza na Primorskam, Faculty of Tourism Stewardship – Turistica, while other project partners are Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management (FTHM), Novi turizem Institute, UIP University Development Center in Incubator Primorska d.o.o. and Rijeka Development Agency Porin d.o.o. The project started in January 2014 and is planned to last until June 2015 with a total budget of €242,848.39.
The general cross-border objectives of the HINT LAB project are the development of entrepreneurship through joint cross-border business cooperation and joint marketing, encouraging the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises in order to increase the number of jobs and thus prevent brain drain.
The project contributes to the development of cross-border cooperation between SMEs, education, research and development organisations and the improvement of business innovation and technology. The project will also establish new jobs in rural areas, with a focus on rural and sustainable tourism.
As part of the project, the development and design of educational workshops for entrepreneurs is carried out in order to raise awareness, identify market opportunities, acquire new skills necessary for business development of entrepreneurs. The target groups of the project are potential entrepreneurs, existing entrepreneurs (SMEs), family businesses, tourism workers and producers of typical agricultural crops, residents living in this area, local and regional authorities for faster economic development of the area.
Training is free for students It is desirable that registered persons attend all seminars.
