In Croatia, in the field of social entrepreneurship, for which it is necessary to achieve a certain social impact, an increasingly intense development can be seen in the last few years. But despite the great interest, few people choose this form of entrepreneurship. Individuals have too few opportunities to acquire the right knowledge to realize their entrepreneurial idea and thus start a social enterprise.

That's why we decided to make a choice “Best ideas of social entrepreneurship” and thus offer the winner the opportunity to realize it through professional counselling, mentoring and active promotion and promotion.

We have published public calls for applications “Best idea of social entrepreneurship” with the aim of selecting the seven best ideas of social entrepreneurship in the entire project area of the Slovenian-Croatian border and which will come to life in reality.

The winners of the election will have an expert mentor to draw up a business plan according to the prescribed methodology. At the same time, with the selected winners, a short film will be made that will talk about their idea of social entrepreneurship and the way of realization.

All the winners of the elections will have the opportunity to promote their ideas in the context of project activities, both in Slovenia and in Croatia.

The areas that are involved in choosing the best idea of social entrepreneurship are:

in Croatia: Istria County, Karlovac County and Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.
in Slovenia: Coastal and karst region, Primorje-Gorski Kotar region, Slovenia and Spodnjeposavska region

Applicants: Small and medium-sized enterprises

Priority of this Public Call is to strengthen the competitiveness of micro-economic operators and stimulate their growth through targeted support for development investments.

The objectives of this public call are:
Improving the efficiency of micro-economic operators
Strengthening the technological base of micro-economic operators
Improving the provision of services through the modernization of the business process
Fostering the development of micro-economic operators and their growth into small economic operators
Encouraging the entrepreneurship of target groups – women entrepreneurs, start-ups, Roma national minority, people with disabilities and entrepreneurs in assisted areas
Creating new jobs and keeping existing ones.

PEligible project activities are:

Investment in fixed assets to improve the performance of activities
Introduction of systems for business improvement and process modernization
Development research to create a new product, business model, service and/or process (includes also the cost of staff employed in development activities)

The minimum amount of aid that can be granted is HRK 30,000.00.
The maximum amount of aid that can be granted is 200.000,00kuna.

The priority of this Public Call is to increase employment through targeted support for development investments, and to strengthen competitiveness, stimulate growth and development of micro and small economic entities, which achieve market performance through their operations.

The objectives of this public call are:
– Improving the efficiency of operations and the competitiveness of micro and small economic operators
– Improving the efficiency of production and production processes through strengthening and modernising the technological base of micro and small operators
– Strengthening the position of micro and small operators in the market and enabling the expansion of production and production assortment
– Encouraging the entrepreneurship of target groups – women entrepreneurs, start-ups, Roma national minority, people with disabilities and entrepreneurs in assisted areas
– Creating new jobs and maintaining existing ones.

Eligible project activities are:

– Investment in the development and procurement of new technologies (including technology transfer) leading to the development of a new or upgrade of an existing product, the improvement of production and the creation of new value;
– Investment in scaling up existing production capacity
– Investing in more environmentally friendly and energy-efficient production
– Deployment of business improvement and process modernisation systems

The minimum amount of aid that can be granted is HRK 50,000.00.
The maximum amount of aid that can be granted is 400.000,00kuna.

Applicants: Local and regional self-government units, Small and medium-sized enterprises, Associations, Employers' Associations, Cooperatives, Development Agencies

The subject of the call is the award of patronage/co-financing for the organisation of events/scientific-professional conferences and other activities promoting entrepreneurship and crafts in 2015.

Eligible applicants are organizers of economic events and events, fairs and other forms of promotion of small and medium-sized entrepreneurship and crafts, organizers of events aimed at promoting micro, small and medium-sized entrepreneurship organizers of economic and exhibitions of innovators and similar forms of promotion, scientific and professional conferences, and local and traditional events, all related to the promotion of entrepreneurship, cooperatives and crafts, as well as the promotion of traditional crafts and local products, based in the Republic of Croatia, namely:
Educational, scientific research institutions and professional associations, federations of cooperatives, federations of associations, HGK and HOK, Regional Chambers and associations of craftsmen (for scientific-professional conferences),Units of local and regional self-government, development agencies, associations, cooperatives, cooperative federations, federations of associations, HGK, HOK, Regional Chambers and associations of craftsmen, Tourist Boards of cities, municipalities and counties (for economic events; exhibitions, fairs),
Small business entities, educational, scientific research institutions and professional associations, federations of cooperatives, federations of associations, HGK and HOK, Regional Chambers and associations of craftsmen (for the national project of promoting entrepreneurship.
The eligible costs for the activities of organising scientific-professional conferences and economic events include the costs of renting, renting, arranging and equipping the exhibition space, the costs of direct national TV broadcasting, the production of catalogues and prospectuses, brochures, books, organising seminars and other dependent costs of the event/scientific-professional conference, etc.

The total amount of available funds is 600.000 kn. The co-financing rate is up to 25 % Of the total eligible costs, the co-financing amounts are set out below.

For scientific – expert conferences:
– up to HRK 50 000.00 for a scientific-professional meeting of an international character;
– up to HRK 30 000.00 for a scientific-professional meeting of a national character;
– up to HRK 20 000.00 for a scientific-professional meeting of a regional character;
– up to HRK 10 000.00 for a scientific-professional meeting with a city/local character.
For economic events:
– up to HRK 140.000,00 for an economic manifestation of an international character;
– up to HRK 120.000,00 for an economic manifestation of state character;
– up to HRK 50 000.00 for an economic event of a regional character;
– up to HRK 20 000.00 for an economic event with a city/local character.
